Five generations of Funeral Service to Lewis County

O n October 8, 1898 James T. Coder founded the Coder Furniture and Undertaking in LaBelle, MO. His son James A. Coder, Sr. opened a second location in Lewistown in 1913, the James A. After a fire destroyed his home in 1943, Mr. Coder built the Coder Funeral Home which was one of the first buildings in the area built specifically for a funeral home. In 1951 Charles L. and Margaret Coder-Arnold, Sr. began managing the Lewistown business, purchasing it in 1957 and building a new facility in Canton in 1965.

Today, Charles L. and Nancy Arnold, Jr. and their son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Carla Arnold, own and operate Arnold's Funeral Homes in Canton and Lewistown, Mo.
